BIRTHDAY TING RETURNS
Once a year, we come together to celebrate the music we love, the scene we’re part of, and the simple blessing of being able to do what we love.
What started as a niche sound rumbling through soundsystems in different corners of England eventually found its way to Malaysian shores. Dubstep, 140, bass music — call it what you want. For us, it’s always been more than a sound. It’s a way of life.
For our third birthday, we’re blessed to have the boys from
@deeptempo140 and SOMEBODYYYY (
@somebodyyyy140) of OneFortyAsia (
@onefortyasia) bringing their selections to
@studio.fono. The night will be powered by Langkawi (
@langkawidubclub) Soundsystem. A space that has been championing subculture for a decade.
We’ll ease into the night with some dub reggae from Sebenar FM before things get heavier with our residents
@jonymaddkidz and
@runaakidubz . FONO boss man
@uzrswl will then take the reins and bring us home after our guests have had their say.
If you know the space, you know it’s a tight one. Space will be limited, so come early, leave the chit-chat for another time, and get ready for a proper night of skanking on 6 November.
