About
Teije van Vliet, known to the world as Lenzman, passed away on 11 July 2026 after a long battle with cancer. He was a producer, DJ and the founder of The North Quarter, and he shaped drum & bass for a generation of listeners. From his 2014 debut album Looking At The Stars on Metalheadz to the sample-free Bobby, his music sat where rolling drums, soul, jazz, hip-hop and real emotion met. He built The North Quarter in 2016 to give vocalists, MCs and producers room to explore that sound. He kept making music through his illness, right up to the end. He leaves behind his wife, Ashanti, and daughters, Riva and Nya. This night is our way of showing up for them. Melbourne's drum & bass community is coming together for a night of Lenzman's music, played by people who loved it.
