PLAYNICE CONFIDENTIAL 022: SHOOP DJS + TROY BEMAN + DISCO DORA

About

Keep the fun going after the Crickters Arms. Free Entry before 11pm! Sydney-based queers SHOOP DJS aka Peter (@Petersned) and Ashley (@quartzcrystal) are the driving force behind SHOOP (@shoop.ltd), a monthly residency at The Cricketers Arms (The Crix) together with co-founder Liz Burnett (@bettyburnett). This lively and at times, nostalgic four-hour dance and community event serves as a platform for showcasing local queer performers and likeminded B2B guest DJs. Building upon their own creation and identity beyond their own events, SHOOP DJS explore their sound that lives rooted in classic house and 90's UK house, alongside stripped-back dubs and unexpected RnB & Pop B-sides, connected by a love of a strong diva vocal. As passionate advocates for supporting Sydney's queer nightlife, SHOOP is dedicated to preserving and revitalising important cultural spaces for the community. Deeply ingrained in local night time spaces, they champion collective nightlife by partnering with likeminded queer promoters such as Club Mince, Heaps Gay, Love Message Collective, Flash, Playnice Confidential and more to keep Sydney's queer spaces thriving. Featuring Shoop DJs Troy Beman - https://soundcloud.com/troybeman Disco Dora - https://soundcloud.com/disco-dora We pay our respects to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and acknowledge their custodianship of these lands and waters; their culture and language; and their elders - past, present and emerging. We invite Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people in our community to this event, if they wish to come free of charge. There are an allocated amount of tickets so please email playniceconfidential@gmail.com for enquiries.
