SYNTRA005 Innerworld

About

Innerworld is the alias of Goan DJ and producer Akshay Mathkar — a distinct voice in contemporary underground electronic music, where introspection meets propulsion. Rooted in the ethos of rave culture yet unconstrained by genre, his sound moves fluidly between ambient atmospheres, deep techno drive, halftime rhythms, and leftfield textures. Rather than adhering to stylistic boundaries, Innerworld focuses on creating states — hypnotic, meditative, and emotionally immersive. He first gained attention with Vibrations (Qilla Records) and Vimana (Mana Abundance), releases that established a sound defined by depth and restraint. Through 2024 and 2025, he expanded his international discography with releases such as Nirvana and Sonic Shaman, strengthening his presence within the deeper spectrum of global techno. A defining milestone came with his first international performance at Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival, appearing on the 428 Stage and introducing the Innerworld project to a wider Asian audience. In 2025, Innerworld undertook a focused Asia run beginning in Hong Kong at Acadana, alongside a feature on Room 303 Radio. He then made his Japan debut at the cult-favorite Rural Festival. His Rural set was later featured by Mixmag Asia, further expanding his international reach. The tour continued with club performances at Traffic (Tokyo) and Club Circus (Osaka), solidifying his footprint across key underground spaces in the region. Innerworld’s performances unfold as carefully constructed journeys — patient, tension-driven, and emotionally charged. Layered atmospheres and evolving grooves blur the boundary between introspective meditation and dancefloor intensity. Beyond the booth, he is the founder of LFO, a Goa-based underground platform curating intimate, high-fidelity gatherings centered on sonic depth and artistic freedom.
