After a 7-year absence, Asian Dope Boys return to Taipei with a bang. Joined by the experimental duo KADAPAT (@kadapat___) and musician Nova Ruth (@novaruth), this summit brings together talents of every kind, extending from the stage to the dance floor. Wild and tender, shaking Taipei to its senses KADAPAT is a duo from the outskirts of Bali. They have studied gamelan and its traditions since childhood, and they explore sound by combining gamelan with experimental electronics. Moving between tradition and innovation, their music is both calm and full of tension. Nova Ruth is a musician and activist from Malang, East Java, Indonesia. She grew up singing hymns in church and reciting the Quran, and she plays gamelan and sings in the Javanese pentatonic scale, reflecting her multi-religious upbringing. Her lyrics often address the natural environment and women’s issues.
