"WE LOVE"—a movement born in the underground scene of Sydney—arrives in Kyoto, a city now draped in the quietude of autumn. At its core is Nick Reverse, a DJ and producer born in Italy who went on to shape his own party culture in Australia. Having performed alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, and Marco Carola, he has energized diverse dance floors, from intimate clubs to massive festivals. With the depth of house, the driving force of techno, and an intensity that builds through meticulous mixing, he brings the very sensibility that nurtured Sydney’s nightlife into the underground of Kyoto. Joining him is the distinct groove of AKIRA ARASAWA. With releases on labels both in Japan and abroad—including Chill Mountain—his tracks have been championed by artists such as Acid Pauli and Prins Thomas. Having traveled the globe—from Radio Sonica in Ibiza and festivals in Croatia to Wonderfruit in Thailand and M.N. Roy in Mexico—he transforms the landscapes and rhythms he has absorbed into a unique, personal groove. Organic fluctuations and rich, resonant basslines reveal a psychedelic depth hidden within the melodies. Also on the bill is masato.mt, the head of TREKs, who has brought his parties from Kyoto and Shiga to dance floors all across Japan. Furthermore, GNGR returns home from Australia for this special occasion. Sensibilities honed in distant lands converge on a single dance floor tonight.
