what does it mean to let your selections go astray, to flirt with people’s minds and leave the room feeling like what’s just unfolded before their very eyes was a fever dream? let us solve that dilemma for you just for one night, courtesy of seven special, special selectors, Huriya is Suffyan (@s_____ffyan)’s first ever residency night at RASA under Shutter Rhythms (@shutter__rhythms), which sees him open up Floor and invite a trio destined to give you a musical liberation like no other; beginning with Lifted Trax’s founder Dexter Colt (@dextercolt_), and his inimitable love for the deepest sounds with leftfield house, trippy techno and dubbed out frequencies always in rotation. through darker than wax and super enjoy, he’s been championing music from asia and beyond, digging into the corners where curious rhythms and lesser-known records tend to hide, your headliners for the night? Zagareet (@zagareet__)’s darling angels, in the form of Yadin Moha (@yadin.moha) and Kugel (@kugel____), back-to-back in a conversation between two kindred spirits that’s long overdue in our lion city. originally from singapore, but now based in hong kong, Yadin Moha returns home after steadily pushing fringe sounds and ideas for the last fifteen-odd years, patiently converting one listener at a time. wading in and out of techno, _wave, dub, industrial and other mutant permutations of the 4/4 rhythm; it’s an ever-evolving attempt from his end to connect the dots between contemporary electronic music, deconstructed traditional motifs, subversive symbolism and sweaty dance floor hysteria. across from him sits seoul’s Kugel, a selector whose music focuses on each fleeting moment as it is spontaneously created, blending deep, dark textures with whimsical oddity. the Nyapi & Future Terror selector earnestly envisions her sets in evolving shapes, colours, textures; seeking to bridge what she is feeling with the dancers in front of her, together, two of asia’s finest set out to turn listeners into believers, one track at a time, RASA (@rasaspace) has once again made the night ever so sweeter, by bringing in belgium’s Lola Haro (@lolitaharo) for a sonic journey in Hall bound to blur the lines between deep,hypnotic baselines, spectral melodies and energetic drive. the founder of record label small steps, Lola Haro has the tasteful tendency to take dancers on a dreamlike journey; a different story every time, always depending on the mood. joining her, Suffyan’s called in our dearest friends RTJ (@sideo) and Mr Legume (@bryankxe) for a cheeky back-to-back through a flurry of sounds from dub, to broken beats, bass and more; it may get whimsical, it may get hectic, it may be contemplative, whatever it is, we’re all for it, a night full of heads in both rooms, carrying these selectors on, and not merely observers, what a beautiful night it will be, don’t you think so? *no phone policy at Floor, we’re handing out black opaque stickers, live a little,
