Originally from Singapore but based in New York since 2014, Marco comes from a rich cultural heritage that’s reflected in his DJ sets. Inspired by legendary parties and spaces such as Paradise Garage, The Shelter, Plastic People, Marco explores old and new underground styles in the spirit of educating and entertaining dancers. Renowned worldwide for co-hosting his 10-year-strong / ongoing ‘Darker Than Wax FM’ radio show on New York’s The Lot Radio, the weekly program has developed a cult listenership, serving as an essential resource for music lovers across the globe. Known for showcasing emerging talents before they blow up, his shows have hosted the likes of Yaeji, Byron The Aquarius, AceMo, Ash Lauryn, among many others. Spearheading US operations for Singapore-based record label Darker Than Wax (DTW), Marco handles releases, programming and A&R. DTW has been championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero, Mixmag and others. In 2020, he curated his own compilation series ‘Various Channels Vol.1 : NYC’ on DTW that received support from Resident Advisor, Benji B and placements on Spotify’s editorial playlists. A student of pirate radio and NYC club legends, over a decade of experience behind the decks has distilled a sonic signature built around a deep knowledge of dance music and blistering technique. Through his record labels Darker Than Wax and Super Enjoy, Dexter Colt has been pushing obscure sounds forward from Asia and beyond, as well as through his monthly show on Bristol-based Noods Radio. Always on the hunt for lost cuts and new talents, Dexter Colt is a mainstay in the Singapore scene and a familiar face across Asia, having shared his sounds at celebrated venues in the region such as Mitsuki (Tokyo), West Harlem (Kyoto), Mihn (Hong Kong), Pawnshop (Taipei), and Savage (Hanoi). It’s this roaming versatility that’s made the veteran figure an oft-booked performer for some of the region’s biggest festivals, such as Boiler Room HK, Bestival Bali, Sunda Festival, Garden Beats and ZoukOut. Daryl’s gig portfolio in the local bar and club circuit is compatibly expansive, filled by his duties as a resident of Offtrack, Rasa, Headquarters and Singaporean international record label, Darker Than Wax. A key member since 2016, Daryl’s been instrumental in orchestrating some of the scene’s most beloved events on behalf of Darker Than Wax, including renowned courtyard bash, BREW, alongside the region-drawing Haw Par Thrilla spectacle with +65 promoters, Ice Cream Sundays.
